Here is an idea for a unique twist on classic lemonade. Sweet watermelon combines with tart lemon juice to create this refreshing summer drink. Ripe watermelon offers enough sweetness that this drink does not require adding sugar.


• 1 cup watermelon cubes

• juice of 1/2 lemon

• ice

• mint garnish(optional)

Preparation: Measure 1 cup watermelon cubes, using the green cylinder as a guide. Using a blender or food processor, puree the watermelon into slush. If you don’t have a blender, I found it is easy to crush the pieces with a fork. Remove any seeds. Slice 1 lemon, and add about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, or a few lemon slices, to your drink. Add ice, and garnish with mint. Enjoy!
